“The Good Schools Alliance (GSA), a network committed to joyful and rigorous learning and teacher agency (of which The Doon School is a member), created The Teachers Academy to answer the question: What did we learn about Productive Failure, and how do we design this together week after week?” - Dr Manu Kapur, Director of the Singapore-ETH Centre, and Professor for Learning Sciences and Higher Education at ETH Zurich, Switzerland.

Learning Forward Academy

The Teachers Academy blog, happyteacher.in, is a highly impactful, open-source educational platform dedicated to fostering a culture of learning, joy, and emotional well-being among educators and students. Acting as the digital anchor for the Learning Forward Foundation and the Good School Alliance, the platform successfully bridges the gap between rigid academic theory and real-world classroom empathy.

Core Strengths of the Blog
- Actionable Classroom Strategies: Articles provide immediate value with practical tips. Examples include implementing 15–20 second question wait-times and utilizing non-judgmental corrections to lower student anxiety.
- Focus on Educator Well-being: The platform emphasizes personal growth and self-acceptance, encouraging teachers to accept their starting points rather than masking challenges behind false positivity.
- Distinction of Reflection vs. Theory: A core philosophy of the blog is pushing educators to share deeply personal feelings and experiences rather than copy-pasting generic educational theories.
- Rich Multimedia Integration: Content is reinforced with links to open-source materials, the My Good School YouTube channel, dedicated podcasts, and collaborative WhatsApp learning circles.

Content Highlights & Philosophy
The blog covers a vast spectrum of developmental psychology and daily teaching tactics:
- The "Marg-Darshak" Role: Promotes maintaining professional boundaries by acting as a friendly guide rather than a peer.
- Horizontal Relationships: Encourages flat structures between students, teachers, and school leadership to build mutual trust and eliminate standard hierarchies.
- Storytelling Mastery: Features masterclasses and workshops—such as those hosted near its  Retreat hub in Dehradun—focused on using collective storyboards and personification to engage bored or struggling students.
